entre um instante e outro,o intervalo
Photo exhibition by Denise Garcia Bergt
Galeria Paçoca, Rio de Janeiro | March 12
There are images that require no haste. They offer themselves to the gaze like someone waiting—in silence.
In Denise Garcia Bergt’s work, the world seems to hover between one moment and the next. What we see is not the event, but the pause. Not the noise, but what remains after it.
Here, time slows down. Desolation is not loss, but a trace. Emptiness is not absence, but space to listen. Each image carries the delicacy of what endures: an almost deserted beach, light persistently penetrating the landscape, figures seen from a distance.
These photographs do not seek answers.
They invite us to pause.
And in that pause, they reveal something essential:
Amidst the melancholy that runs through the series, there is also room for hope—the realization that beauty can arise in the most unlikely places, if we are only willing to look attentively.
